Western Iowa hotel rooms a the Independent

"Close to our exit. Staff was great, very friendly."

"The rooms are plain but clean and comfortable. Not much in the vicinity. The internet is very poor. But decent place to spend the night right off the highway."

"King Bed suite was amazing, bed was very comfortable, nice size tv in both rooms, usb ports available on both sides of the bed, clean bathroom. Breakfast was one of the best, good variety of hot items, pastries/breads, yogurt etc. "

"Breakfast was good. Appreciated the location that was within walking distance of events. "

"We froze to death in our room, construction was going on and our heater had more cold air blowing around the heater than warm air coming out of the unit. I took towels and stuffed them in all around the heater to try to keep our room warm. Due to blizzard and cancellation of flights the motel was full and no changes available. The workers were quite nice , but could not help us out by moving us."

"Hate that you have to pay for breakfast otherwise the hotel is great"

"Our showers were cold. My poor kids were shivering in their showers. Wife & I also took reluctant showers. We called front desk & their response was it might be because people were returning to their rooms at 8pm and using showers. No hotel should have cold showers anytime regardless of use. I took a shower the next morning & it was lukewarm. Definitely ruined the stay. The pool was tiny, so dint expect any actual swimming. It’s more of an above ground pool you’d see in backyards. Also was cold, but bearable once you get used to it. Room & hotel were clean but older. If we had to do it over we’d book downtown for a little more if just for the warm showers. The employee was friendly but only saw 1 person - who was at the front desk. "

"The parking was great, the staff was awesome but there was literally just trash bags all over the hallways where people just left trash so over. But the swimming pool and staff were awesome. The breakfast was great to."
