"The bed was not comfortable- like it was the cheapest mattress and the pillows were not as nice or comfortable as other home2 suites I have been to. Other than that the room was a typical hotel room."
"Highly recommend a stay at this well maintained, professionally staffed, retro feeling hotel with included hot breakfast. We felt well cared for and accommodated. Overall pleasant experience for a long weekend stay. It is a great value.
Area Highlights:
There are **so many** dining options within 10 minutes of the property, several are walkable. Pubs, fast food, sit-down casual restaurants, in both local flavors and national and regional chains abound. For some solid 1930s nostalgia, check out the family-owned Igloo Frozen Custard burger/shake/fry stand one block east of the Meijer. Other local favorites: Mountain Jacks, The Country Diner, Dog & Suds, 9Irish.
The Room
Hot water with good pressure, cold A/C unit with no crazy settings or weird smells. Lots of TV channels. The entry light switch is in the closet, but that is just an oddity, no big deal. Mid-firm beds and lots of pillows.
Big Breakfast
Three cereal options with a couple types of dairy milk (didn't see a non-dairy option), hot eggs and sausage links, U-Bake/flip mini waffles, microwave oatmeal, breakfast pastries and muffins, toaster breads, individually wrapped fresh oranges and apples, a juice dispenser with orange, apple, and cranberry juice. Other beverages: ice water, regular and decaf coffee, tea, and all associated sugar, creamer, and honey. 8 tables + lobby seats. Well-staffed.
Arrival & Parking
We were in a fully booked weekend and had plenty of parking available. Access is easy on/off to I-65."
"Booking and check-in went smoothly. The entryway and restaurant were spacious and well-decorated.
My room was mostly clean and comfortable — the pillows and comforter were soft and the HVAC worked properly.
Their made-to-order breakfast was tasty with generous portion sizes.
Downsides: I found about 20-30 tiny black ants living around the bathroom in the room. Parking was a bit of a pain since the elevator in the closest garage wasn’t working."
"The property was dirty. Lots of maintenance issues. I stayed in room 309 and there is trash behind the bed and yes I could tell because the mattress was not pushed all the way up. Door completely off of cabinet. Small drawers beside the heating and air unit are non usable."
"Hotel was very clean. Hot Buffet breakfast was wonderful. Pool was great. We liked the room with full microwave, full fridge, and 2 stove top burners. It even included pans/dishes and small dishwasher!! We used the laundry facilities too! It had everything. The only downfall was that I kept getting charged different fees for no reason. The staff was contacted 3 different occasions, but finally got it fixed, (I think). Will stay again."
