"A fantastic stay at Royal Palm Resort & Spa. The resort is vast and exceptionally well equipped, with everything you could need available on site. The direct access to the beautiful beach is a real highlight and offers a lovely stroll along the coast towards the lighthouse. We booked the private spa for a three-hour session, which was absolutely amazing and well worth it. "The rooms were old and tired, in need of renovation, however they were spotlessly clean. Our balcony overlooked the courtyard area tjough, and there were apartments directly facing us, which made it awkward to sit out if those opposite were in use. Staff on site were all extremely helpful and friendly. The pool and bar areas were well-maintained and clean. "

"We upgraded our stay, but it some of the upgrade figures never materialised, even after highlighting this to reception staff, which were rather ignorant. Housekeeping staff were very nice and friendly, big thank you to them. Bar and restaurant staff were hit and miss, some of them were very good, others were not really interested in their job. "I stayed in a newly renovated Privilege Room, which had access to a private lounge and restaurant offering à la carte menus and breakfast options each day. This add-on was a nice touch and provided a quiet place to enjoy meals away from the busy buffet restaurant. I also liked the spa and the range of treatments. However, all the beaches surrounding the hotel (including the hotel beach at Playa Esmeralda) attract nudists. I found this to be very unpleasant."

"Inside and around the bed was swarming with tiny insects. I had to wait until the next day to change room. When reported to reception no apology for the inconvenience. Customer service was minimal. Not what I would expect for a 4 star resort."
