"Wonderful little resort. Stay in the main lodge, the cabins and lake are 2 miles away with zero onsite transportation. Very helpful staff, Stephanie went above and beyond to ensure my late night arrival was absolutely perfect. She is exactly what genuine hospitality looks like. Bret in adventures hooked me up with a E-bike that was a ton of fun for exploring Winthrop and was very helpful. Food is outstanding and the views are top notch. Will definitely be back. Don’t miss this gem! The only downside was lack of laundry facilities and a shuttle. But those were minor compared to my great overall experience in every regard."
"Loved the view of the river and all the wildlife we saw. From our porch swing we enjoyed seeing river otters, bucks; does with their young, eagles including one with a fish in it's talons and numerous birds and butterflies.
The room was comfortable, clean and kitchen appointed with all you need.
Bicycles on sight to enjoy the trails or take to town.
We had a wonderful/relaxing time and come home refreshed!"
"Good value motel. Hot tub, pool and sauna were nice addition. Room walls a bit thin but nothing out of the ordinary for a first floor room. Bed was comfy and water pressure was great and hot!"
"The inside was nice. The exterior looks run down. The shower head was too short for my friend who is 5'8. The beds were comfortable and we were so grateful for the AC. Thanks for having us!"
"We enjoyed our stay at the Virginian Resort. The cabins are quaint, comfortable, and conveniently located close to town, grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations.
While the cabins do show their age with older carpeting, bathroom fixtures, and tubs, they were clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We especially appreciated having air conditioning during the warm weather and a comfortable place to unwind after exploring the area.
If you're looking for a simple, affordable cabin in a great location, this is a great option."
"It is a cute place, be ready for a more rustic experience as far as bathrooms and washrooms go. The only thing I didn’t like is that it was a very flimsy lock, and we were the only ones on property for most the stay with spotty cell phone service. That part didn’t feel safe. If there were on site help or other campers around I think I would have felt more safe."
