"I’m sure this review will contradict those previous, but basically I did not like this place straight from arrival. The manager/desk man was condescending, we had to wait for our room, the room was basic in the extreme, poor quality bedding and towels, an ancient bed and threadbare mattress. The room had thin walls with a lot of noise from next door. Ordering food had a 45 min delay, although the (very basic) eating area was deserted. We did not stay at this hotel, we moved elsewhere locally,...

"This was a homestay although I may have been misled by the previous reviews my expectancy was high. However on arrival I was slightly disillusioned and even moreso when during the night on a visit to the loo I stepped on a huge Centipede.... Definitely not as highly rated as the reviews show.. but comfortable in its own way."

"Amazing - no other words needed! A two night stay in one of the tree houses - had the camp to ourselves , which was perfect. Staff were fabulous and went out of their way to ensure our meals were varied both in location and food . Excellent on both counts . Wild elephant encounter on our way in, had to reroute on the way out due to ele on the road (? Same guy?) . But a great detour . Just chilled in the fish spa and ate lots. "

"This hotel is in sigiriya which is a village type community near Sigiriya Rock. So you don't expect facilities you might find in a large city. The room was spacious safe and quiet. There was no fridge or tv which was fine. There are no supermarkets in this area but there were adequate dining options nearby. The hotel was perfectly comfortable for a short stay in Sigiriya."

"As we went out of season, it was very quiet so we had the pool to ourselves! Breakfast was a treat as it is in most of Sri Lanka. Great view of Lion Rock and a short walk to the local restaurants"

"Great hotel in a beautiful location. We only stayed one night, but could have stayed longer. The pools looked fantastic and well cleaned. We had an excellent meal, and then played pool on the table next to the bar! The hotel is trying hard to be eco, and we had a very interesting bathroom surrounded by plants in the shower, and an open air roof - covered by mesh to stop anything nasty getting in! We watched a fantastic sunset whilst drinking cocktails. Very memorable. Staff were lovely."

"I have no idea why people have rated this place so high. I chose this place because she claimed to have wifi. She does not have wifi. She has a cellphone with a hotspot that she never turns on. If she does turn it on, it doesn't work when she takes the phone with her when she leaves. She also turns the phone off when she goes to sleep. I told her twice that I needed the internet to make a very important phone call late at night. She forgot. Turned off her cellphone. I had no internet,...
