Nice apartment, but unannounced cleaning fee

Very central and nice apartment. Small downside: Shower drain a bit clogged, ventilation in bathroom faulty. Bigger downside: A cleaning fee, which was not announced before the booking, needed to be paid in cash. While the fee was not very large, I felt cheated that this was not announced as part of the total price (only in the small print). This practice should be stopped.
