"This was a perfect place to stay as a stopover for going to Edinburgh university open day. The family room we had was clean and tidy. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was well priced and delicious. We used the disabled parking space right outside the hotel so didn’t see the main car park. When booking I didn’t check for a lift this was ok for me but all bedrooms are upstairs."

"A lovely traditional hotel set in a beautiful part of the Borders with magnificent grounds through which the River Tweed flows. Traditional lounge with comfortable and large settees and chairs. Food was excellent with very helpful and friendly staff. Beds were very comfortable and big enough for a good stretch! Bathrooms were a bit tired with a rather weak over-bath shower. Plenty of hot water though. Underfloor heating in the bathroom was a great bonus. For its magnificent setting, fantastic food and very friendly and helpful staff, I would definitely go back for another stay."

"Plenty of pluses. Abundant free parking. Good check in. Friendly staff. Room good (could do with a chair). Bar and restaurant welcoming. Didn’t confirm online dinner reservation request, but dinner ok, limited menu, but reasonably priced. 10% service charge annoyed me. Service was very good, but it should be at consumer discretion. Coffee cafetière, and fresh milk, in room most welcome, as was ‘proper’ glass (not plastic cup). Breakfast not included at £90 disappointing."
