"We spent 1 night on Vulcano in the really nice Pensione La Giara. It is conveniently situated on a relatively quiet street on a little over 5 min walk from the port, and on route to the path ascending to the vulcano. We were in two neighbouring bedrooms with shared bathroom for both rooms, which was perfect for our family of four. The owner on arrival advised on the trip up the vulcano and on nearby restaurants. "This was a very good hotel with a lovely swimming pool and the added bonus of a jacuzzi. Cleanliness was excellent with rooms being serviced daily to a high standard. Breakfast was good and all staff friendly and welcoming. The complimentary shuttle bus to the port was a nice extra."

"The property is very cute and the breakfast is great each morning! However, there are many parts of the hotel that were under construction, either being built or fixed. The hottub was empty sitting by my room, so unable to use that. There were also no staff in the afternoons or evenings when I was there, so I could not enjoy the bar aspect of the outdoor dining area. Owner was responsive and said he was having trouble with afternoon staff. Location is convenient to central Vulcano and various...
