Decent hotel

A decent hotel, fantastic that it has AC and a pool as it can get warm in Visby in July/August. The location is great for walking around the city. Only complaint was that the rooms aren’t soundproof so you could hear loud music outside or from the next room over or from above.

Excellent choice for Visby!

We loved our stay at the Clarion Visby. The best parts included its proximity to all things within the walled city. The breakfast is great, the rooms are incredibly spacious, and the staff is so kind! 10 out of 10 would stay here again and recommend to anyone who’s on the fence about different hotels to give the Clarion a shot.

The toilet seat was dirty and smell urean. You need to do something about breakfast room. It just can’t hold and serve so many people same time as there is fully booked hotel. Of course people should move away when finished but they diskuterar long time before leaving…

Location and ambience

This is a very nice and comfortable hotel easy walking distance to/from the ferry terminal with light luggage. It’s a great location for the botanical garden and many, many restaurants and shops. The hotel is down near the harbor and most of the restaurants are an uphill walk on beautiful cobblestone streets. The rooms are nicely appointed and seem to vary in size. I had a single room which was rather small but very nice. The bed was comfortable, I had a soft comfortable arm chair and and a desk with chair. There was a well stocked mini bar under the desk. There was a good armoire with a small safe inside and an iron and ironing board. I had a luggage rack and there were 3 hooks on the wall by the door. Bathroom had a shower with sliding doors, shampoo, conditioner and shower soap. Heated towel rack but too far from the shower, a hook would be nice beside the shower. Toilet was lovely with an old fashioned pull chain to flush, heated floor in bathroom. The spa changing rooms seem to a bit run down since I was here 3 years ago. The soap and shampoo dispensers were broken or missing and they only provided a smaller towel instead of a beach size towel that I remember from the last visit. The bar is a magnificent design! The breakfast buffet has a great selection but gets very crowded the last hour.

Absolutely outstanding hotel. It really felt like a home from home. Very comfortable rooms in a beautiful old building, with a fantastic bar and restaurant. The pool and saunas were spotless and very relaxing. The staff were some of the most friendly and effective hotel staff I have ever encountered. Nothing was too much trouble, they were so friendly and helpful. I Highly recommend this hotel.

About Breakfast ・I was happy with the ginger shot; it was my first time trying it! 🌟 The staff explained it to me! Thank you! ・I was satisfied with the quality and quantity. ・I requested in advance for an early check-out before breakfast, and they prepared two types of sandwiches, orange juice, yogurt, and a fruit, which was very helpful. 🌟 ・I didn't request it, so my room was on the second floor. Apparently, if I had requested a nice view, I could have gotten a room on the fifth floor with a good view. It was disappointing this time, but I'll do that next time! ◎The room was quiet and there were no issues with the facilities (I brought indoor slippers). ◎The staff (I spoke with two women and one man) had wonderful smiles and were very friendly. They made me very happy. 🌟Thank you!

The check-in and the staff were extremely accommodating and kind. Our room was beautiful, looking over the other historic buildings. The location was perfect, near the ocean and also near some wonderful restaurants. I would definitely, definitely stay there again!

Ok but nothing special

Despite what it says on Clarion's own website, there is no room service available. The "heart" of the hotel, the beautiful bar and lounge area, does not open until 3 PM. I ended up in a room that was so far from the entrance that I had to go through three different sets of stairs in different parts of the building just to get there. In general, everything felt understaffed. It was not uncommon to see trash lying around in the shared areas. This hotel is simply too big and gave the impression that cost cutting was far more important to the management than my experience as a guest. Don't get me wrong, it was an okay hotel (though probably not truly 4-star), but do not expect anything special. You could likely find similar quality for a lower price somewhere else. Tips if you do decide to stay here: - Do not bother with the app-based door key. For me, it sometimes took up to a minute to unlock the door after fiddling with the exact position of my phone. - Use the side entrance if you want to avoid being overwhelmed by heavy perfume every time you enter the hotel. - Bring your own toilet paper unless you enjoy the really thin, almost see-through kind.

Mycket trevligt och nära till allt!

Hade en supermysig vistelse här på Clarion Wisconsin. Kände mig väl omhändertagen från början till slutet av min vistelse. Hade önskat att snacksen på rummet hade ingått och varit frukter istället för chips. Men utöver detta - fantastiskt hotell med toppläge!

Hotellets läge är mycket bra, i övrigt lämnar upplevelsen en del att önska. Rummet var slitet, i behov av renovering och illa städat. Det låg dammråttor i hörnen och badrummet var inte fräscht. Frukosten var en ledsam historia som förde tankarna till skolbespisningen och hela upplevelsen kändes som att hotellet har alltför stort fokus på kostnadsbesparingar och effektivitet. Synd på ett i övrigt fint hotell med anrik historia, trevliga utrymmen och stor potential.
