The nearby Forestry Museum is ideal for those interested in the town’s history. After the museum, you can visit the nearby Savivuori Observation Tower to admire the surrounding scenery.

For those who enjoy fishing, why not try and catch some trout in the popular fishing rapids of Huopanankoski? Or why not hike to Kymönkoski and see the naturally formed stairs known as Karoliina’s stairs, one of the marvels of Central Finland. The Koljatti Nature Trail leads through rugged rock terrain to a lean-to shelter and campfire site on the shores of Lake Kalliojärvi.
