Palazzo Stern, a boutique hotel right on the Grand Canale in the Dorsodoro sestierè, was a wonderful spot in May.The outdoor terrace for breakfast and dinner is romantic and magical, a front row seat to Venetian day time water life and nighttime beauty. Our room was well appointed and immaculate. The hotel’s location is optimal, easy walking to all sights and far less crowded than main tourist areas.

The property is beautiful both inside and out, particularly the lobby areas. The ease of access with the adjacent vaporetto stop is very convenient. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating from the front desk to to the restaurant and bar.

Fabulous hotel and great location

This hotel is located in a great spot on the Grand Canal. It’s close to #1 stop for the public ferry that travels up and down the Grand Canal. Friendly and very informative staff. They help arrange transportation from the airport that greeted us upon arrival. Helped us map out our local travels with the public waterways. Beautiful hotel.

A beautiful hotel located in a quieter corner of Venice. It's located in a former home of a Venice merchant family, and remodeled with era-specific art. It feels like staying in a museum. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and gave us a wonderful tour of the property at check in. The dining area is located on the waterfront of the Grand Canal and provides a beautiful place to eat and have a drink. The rooms themselves are clean, comfortable, and elegant in their decoration. I truly enjoyed my stay at the Palazzo Stern and will definitely be staying here again.

Breakfast service brusk. Lacked caring. Food mediocre at best. No, not even that… Electrical system is old and tired. No accommodation for any USB plugs. TV did not operate with remote. TV is old and small. Jacuzzi tub (fine bubbles?) is so slippery it’s scary and uncomfortable to take a shower. Water pressure from overhead depended on gravity. Building overall is beautiful. Former mansion. Jordi and Junior both get big thumbs up. We liked the location and neighborhood.

Glorious location on the Grand Canal. The staff was excellent-clearly the most professional people are hired by the management. Breakfast, cocktail hour, and dinner were all delicious-we had no desire to look elsewhere when we could sit outside on a terrace next to the Grand Canal. Umbrellas protected us from a brief sprinkle of rain. The recommendation to visit Murano via water taxi was much appreciated. We were picked up off the hotel entrance. We didn't want to leave!

As charming as it gets!

Stern was absolutely charming. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were super clean and well appointed. The downstairs bar was wonderful. You could get a drink and sit out on the veranda and watch the grand canal. Venice was super crowded the weekend we were here, but the hotel was quiet. Would definitely stay here again. Love Venizia!!!

We enjoyed a wonderful three day break here. It's one of very few hotels that has a terrace on the grand canal, it's an easy walk to most of the city yet is usefully distant from the seathing tourist districts, it's five minutes from the excellent Bakaro restaurant and the room was lovely, well designed and beautifully crafted. Highly recommended.

This a luxury hotel with great staff. I just wanted to mention that the bath tub is very tall and getting in and out was not easy. Also one has to be careful not to slide in the tub. The location is great and right in front of the public water boat station. There is no need to pay the high price of a water taxi. The location is also within walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

Nice unique property. Walkable area close to sites and restaurants. I little pricey-complicated to get there. You need an uber, and then a "water taxi". But this is Venice! Not Omaha! Enjoy!
