The hotel was clean, decorated beautifully and great location. 15 min walk to the train station and near the coop, food options and shopping. However what makes this hotel so special is the staff. They were attentive, kind and ensured all of needs were met. I would highly recommend.

The hotel was very nice and in a good location. I noticed the food near the hotel was more reasonably priced compared to areas near the more busy sites. It was easy to walk but if you take the public water taxis to the nearest stop coming straight from the airport be prepared to take your luggage up the many staired small bridges in Venice. It was no problem for us but my parents struggled so a private water taxi would have been a better option. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, provided many great recommendations. Rooms are small but that is to be expected in a historic hotel. Very clean.

The building is beyond fancy and the staff are amazing. It's Venice, so the rooms are comically small, but yoy get that anywhere in the city at this price point. It's on one of the major tourist strips, the decor is appropriately fancy, the staff are amazing, wifi works well enough and there's probably a dozen cafes and restaurants within a five minute wall from your front door Only minor downside is that the utilities aren't very well maintained. Only two outlets in the room were working, the lights in the bathroom flickered, air-conditioning worked well enough but it was obviously dying periodically before coming back to life an hour later and only kept the room cool because it was so small and water pressure was non-existent. Building's several hundred years old though, so some jank is to be expected.

Lovely stay and location

I loved this hotel - nice and comfortable rooms with air conditioning. Location is brilliant - just over 16 minutes’ walk from the train station (over three bridges, but that’s not too bad for Venice); and really convenient to walk to the sights.

Lovely Conveniently Located Hotel

Lovely hotel located close enough to everything to be convenient but just far enough away from the Rialto for there not to be wall-to-wall people right outside the door 24 hours a day. The staff were extremely helpful, particularly with arranging a watertaxi to the airport for us in the middle of the night. I was expecting breakfast to be included based on what I remembered as a special promotion for Gold members that was in effect when I booked the reservation almost a year in advance, but it's possible I am just misremembering things because it isn't stated anywhere on the reservation document I printed out at the time.

Excellent experience

Excellent Hotel! I stayed with my family, husband and two teenagers. The room was big enough for the four of us. Excellent location, close to water bus stops, restaurants and shops. The staff was supper friendly and helpful! I highly recommend this hotel.

Enjoyable

Great location and nice, spacious room. The main reception area of the hotel is actually separate from the room we stayed in, which was across the narrow street. There weren’t elevators in either building, so you have to go up stairs. The breakfast included was good.

No airport shuttle with this one

Hotel is unique. Hard to find, as address is wiped away and only a mat inside the door basically tells you, you are there. Airport shuttle? I can’t believe they advertise this, sure they will call you a water taxi for the steep price of $150 euros so be prepared for that.

The service was top notch. Fabio and Sorina were outstanding. Always very friendly and helpful. They provided excellent restaurant recommendations. Also very accommodating for our breakfast time. Couple small things that could be better, 1) the AC was not very cold but it seems it may be normal for Venice, 2) the shower drain was slow and pooled a bit of water. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

I normally don't review hotels, as most are fine. But Ca' Gottardi was exceptional. The location was perfect. The room was fabulous. But what made my stay here particularly wonderful was the service. I arrived 2 hours early and was allowed to check in. When checking out, I departed almost an hour before breakfast was served and the staff had prepared breakfast for my family of 4. I highly recommend this hotel. Incredible.

A great find in Venice in a central location with exceptionally attentive staff and an "Old World" feel. We loved our four nights at this hotel for many reasons, including the hospitality (quickly addressing any issues, providing coffee and bar service in addition to breakfast, ordering a water taxi, etc.), the amazing location (walkable to both the train station and San Marco, on a pretty canal, quiet at night), the sumptuous décor (we had a massive Venetian chandelier in our Jr. Suite), and the comfort (great shower with body jets, comfy beds, quiet air conditioning that works!). We would absolutely stay there again and have already recommended it to friends. A
