"Absolutely LOVED Black Rock. Beautiful location and rooms. The main room area was large and comfy, loved the fire place. Provided a cosy blanket for the sofa which was nice to use on the private patio too. The bathroom was incredible. There was a window to the bathroom which meant we could watch tv from the bath which was wild (but great). Gave us robes to use which was handy for going to the pool etc, would’ve been useful to have slippers provided as well but that's just a small thing. Parking was a bit busy but we were always able to find a space (free too!).
There were only 2 hot tubs and one is absolutely scalding hot. The hot tub to guest ratio is a bit off, I imagine if the hotel is busy they would be a bit packed. It would also be useful to say the temperatures somewhere too.
The restaurant was fantastic - staff and food were brilliant. Would stay here again in a heartbeat."
"A beautiful oasis to relax and unwind.
Everything there you need for a complete weekend stay.
We stayed there for a birthday celebration.
Starting with morning spa treatments.
Afternoon fun at the Velocity Golf range with friends, including a light lunch.
A walk around the well manicured gardens.
Dinner for two at Carve Kitchen and Meatery. Set in an elegant and soothing setting with a delicious array of meal choices. Followed by dessert out in the gardens listening to relaxing music.
The suite we stayed in had a view of the ocean, was beautifully decorated, extremely clean and with all amenities needed for a comfortable stay.
Would highly recommend.
Looking forward to our next visit."
"All in all the resort was clean and tidy. The staff was great. The pool and hot tub were excellent. However, we were confused about why the steam sauna and cold plunge are only available if you book them for a charge with the spa...
The 1st evening we went down for a dip it was all open. There were no signs about having to "reserve" these amenities. So we used them for a short time. The next day there were signs on the door of the sauna saying "reserved".
Kind of lame to be in a nice resort and you get nickel and dimed.
I would think that if someone wants to have them for themselves then by all means rent them out. Or set up a schedule or something?
We used public transit for the most part since we didn't have a car. Easy and cheap. We went to Buckeyes in town every other day for Happy Hour.
We will be back next year."
