I guess the bad reviews are either from an earlier period or people don't understand it's a hostel. I was very glad to see a fan spinning in the room at night as it was very hot. "Very good hotel for its star rating. Clean, good decor and facilities. Good shower and effective air-conditioning. Conveniently placed between the railway station and the amphitheatre. Our room had a view of the Rhone. No lift so don't stay here if limited mobility but not a problem for us. Good value."

The only thing to note is that the property does not have parking. The €10 parking that Expedia references is public city parking. There’s no guarantee to get a space when you arrive. "
