Valladolid hotel rooms a the Independent

"Food was terrible, pata was slimy and my calamansi drink had a fly in it. Least favourite stay in the Philippines."

"Calling it "newly renovated" is a bit of a stretch. I don't find any signs of recent renovation. Maybe the furniture? The bathroom was clean for Philippine standards, but not for Western standards. The room didn't have a fridge or a microwave, only a kettle, limiting "

"I coming here for last 5 years, it's kind of getting old, especially bath room shower has black mold and room has some kind of smell, staff are very good and helpful. SM mall is right next to the hotel."

"When we got checked in, the toilet wasn’t flushing, the phone isn’t working, when we locked the door because we have to go out, they said they have no key that works. We rented 2 rooms good for 6 each but they only gave us 2 cups. When we ate out, the manager had a bad attitude toward us. The staffs are trying their best to help us but their boss is terrible. There’s oveall problem with the system."

"Very old and outdated. If you want to borrow an iron, they charge 100 pesos. Can’t turn on the faucet for hot water. We tried to check out before 8am and the person on duty was sleeping in sofa in the waiting area. "

"Avenue Suites is our favorite hotel in Bacolod - we stay here every time. It has everything we need, good quality throughout, good value, great location, and a very nice coffee shop/restaurant off the lobby. Great staff."
