"We stayed 4 nights at the Monopol. We found it clean and the rooms spacious with very comfortable beds. The rooftop bar is really beautiful as it gives you a view of the town and the lake. I wished breakfast was served there but unfortunately it is actually served in the restaurant on the lower level where there is no view at all. Breakfast was actually a bit underwhelming, especially the sweet options. Few plain croissants, some plain cakes (the same every day), few sad mini donuts that looked like they came out of a plastic box bought at the local supermarket. You can do better here, Monopol.
Car park is available, which is a plus, although it comes at an extra 30CHF per day. I do not think it is a problem but just to be aware when booking. Monopol also has a room where you can store your bikes. I believe it is meant for storing skies in winter and it has not facilities like charging points or pumping station but nonetheless it was useful for storing securely our bikes during our stay
There is a spa on the top floor, which potentially is very nice as you can enjoy a great view of the lake. However, a couple of things put us off from using it more: there are just 8 lounge beds but there is no booking system. So at peak time it can be very overcrowded and it is difficult to relax. The second thing is that Monopol encourages using the spa facilities totally naked. This can be fine for many, but we did not like it at all to see men walking around with their bits hanging out"
"Very charming… love the location… it was rustic which I felt was the very vibe we wanted in a mountain stay… I highly recommend and will definitely be back. Shoutout to the front desk lady -sorry I forgot her name - she is originally from the Philippines- excellent customer service, very respectful, polite and hospitable and friendly…even gave us tips on how to
Maximize our stay in Montreux.-from restaurant suggestions, activities (Diavolezza), timing for Bernina line stops to take… Lovely lovely quiet peaceful ambience with a view of the lake toward the back of the hotel"
"Overall, this is a lovely property and the staff was very friendly and attentive. However, I was disappointed that all of the tables at the windows were reserved for breakfast. It is an included buffet and yet it was not possible to sit at the windows. I sat down, ate a leisurely breakfast and not one of the reserved tables were used. If you are going to allow reservations, you should require a time of arrival. I also had issues with my shower and it flooded the bathroom and flowed into the room. I don’t take long showers and turn the water off while soaping up and it still flooded. The room was adequate but very small so the flooding really made an impact. The hotel has beautiful views of the lake and is easy to access the town are. Overall, a decent property. I assume the cost was all about the location. Not sure I would book again."
"Hola! Desde que llegamos a la recepción el trato fue cordial y excelente. Nos encontramos con sorpresa que se comunicaron en español. Eso fue increíble. Todo perfecto. El hotel estaba calefaccionado y muy agradable. Seguramente volvería. Solo tenemos palabras de agradecimiento"
"The staff was incredible, we ended up getting delayed a day, and they were very helpful and accommodating! Their service was absolutely five star! My girlfriend and I were both blown away by the value, the view, and the general amazing atmosphere of this place."
