Utrecht hotel rooms a the Fletcher

"Hotel was very modern with friendly staff and good location just few minutes walk to metro station. Bar had a good selection of drinks. Breakfast had a nice touch with barista made coffees but would be nice to have slightly bigger selection of food. I would definitely come back to this hotel. "

"For such an expensive hotel, I was disappointed that so many things went wrong just on a one night stay. When I checked in at 11:30 at night tired from a long flight, I was immediately asked to handover my passport or driving license as an identification. Not that I mind doing that, but the way I was asked, without a friendly welcome felt rather abrupt. When it came to leaving the deposit, two cards were rejected, that both turned out to have adequate funds on it, and then from my credit card that did work in their system, the deposit was taken out twice. Something the staff was reluctant to admit until I showed them my credit card app. When I came to the room, the Wi-Fi didn’t work, which is to say the browser window didn’t come up so that I could logon. I’ve stayed at many hotels where this is not been a problem, and I know how it works, so it was rather annoying that this was not working as it should. Breakfast in the room in the morning was another disappointment, because part of the order was missing. And when I called down to ask for them to bring the missing part of the order, I was made to feel like they were doing me a favour bringing it up. Once again, none of these things were the end of the world kind of problems, but really not something I expect in it five star or four star Hotel. When I asked when the deposit would be returned they said it could take a couple of days and that that was because of my bank, which is my experience with other Hotels."

"No tea or coffee or water included in the room, I went down for a coffee and some water and was charged €4.50 for a very small cappuccino. The room was extremely unclean, stains and smears on the tables and bed frame, hairs and dust in the drawers. If I’d paid €150 I’d have been annoyed at the condition but at €300 per night it’s totally unacceptable. The staff are nice but at €300 per night to not have tea and coffee included, and to have to go downstairs for water is just ridiculous. I ordered a pizza and it was cold, had to send that back and was sent out a tikka masala which was actually edible. The blackout blinds aren’t actually black out at all, they let in a lot of light. The airport view rooms on the first floor don’t see the airport at all either. In future I’ll stay in Amsterdam and take a convenient train to the airport and not waste my time with this place. "

"The ice cube dispenser on the second floor was great ! The rooms are quiet and the staff was hospitable! Also the beds are very comfortable. The front desk was accommodating to allow us into our room early after a long transatlantic journey! "

"Very clean property. Great location. Friendly staff. We were on the 2nd floor but I was woken up, despite having ear plugs, every night by someone talking quite loudly from the street till the wee hours in the morning. "
