In the western part of Södermanland you will find Trosa, a charming town in a county with the same name. Its beautiful surroundings make this town a popular tourist destination. The first thing you might notice when visiting is the Trosa River running through the town – you walk along the river, past the charming wooden houses, or start from Vagnhärad and travel downstream on a barge, with great views of the surroundings. Another option is to explore the town by taking a ride on the Blue Train, which runs during the summer with stops along the harbour and in Trosa square.
On the square you will find the tourism office in the red wooden building with the clock tower, where you can easily arrange archipelago tours and buy tickets to various events. A short walk from the beach, the popular Trosa Market is held on the square, selling goods and handicrafts, as well as traditional Christmas gifts during Advent. The square itself is surrounded by shops selling fashion, handmade items and homewares.

Boat owners dock at the Trosa inn, people take a refreshing dip at Trosa coastal bath, while others cycle along local paths, such as the Näckros trail and the Sweden trail. It’s easy to reach Trosa from Stockholm’s international Arlanda Airport, either by train or by car along the E4 motorway.
