"The one-bedroomed apartment with sea view we rented was very clean and well furnished. The kitchen was more than adequately equipped and the fan quickly removed any food smells. We loved the location of the apartment. We not only had an exceptional view across the water, but we were also very close to bus stops (and the bus system in Tromsø is very inexpensive and efficient), the downtown area. "Lovely apartment, at a good price. Really good value for money compared to the rest of accommodations in the country. The breakfast was good, the apartment clean and spacious, and located in the city centre. The sound insulation of the apartment could be improved, but the town is quite so after 10-11 pm it was ok. There is no lift but our apartment was on the 2nd floor (GF+1) and it was not a problem. "

"Tiny room, but OK because the floor plan was excellent. Very nice hotel all inn all. Only slight negative: - Too much “green”, environment nagging. - Some of the staff spoke neither Norwegian nor English all that well."

"This is a budget hotel. If you want a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom, then it’s for you. If you want space and luxury, then it’s not. We’re the kind of travellers who just need a bed , a bathroom and a good breakfast (if possible), so the Smarthotel suited us very well. The buffet breakfast offered plenty of choice and was good value and the property was centrally located, and convenient for many of the sites, bars, restaurants and also buses. There was a spacious lounge on the ground floor where residents could sit, read, play games and eat The only real downside was the room reminded me a bit of a student hall room, with the bed against one wall and a desk on the other."

"Excellent location right in Alta center (which is very small), best buffet breakfast at a very reasonable price in all 3 weeks of my Norway travel, front desk staff very helpful/polite/professional, clean and comfortable room with spacious bathroom(shower, toilet, sink, hair dryer, towel racks. Only 2 downsides: 1) need expanded dinner menu 2) cost 250 NOK one way from airport and bus schedule is unreliable. The bus does stop about 4 minute walk away in big parking lots across the street from Thon hotel which is next door to Scandic"

"This is an amazing place. Right on the Harbour and you can see the boats at the harbour from your window. The staff was extremely kind and very helpful. In particular, Edda (?) was an example of what this service should be. To top it off, breakfast afternoon, coffee/tea, and dinner were all free. This Home Hotel would get my top recommendation."

"Great location in the town center close to the airport bus stop. Breakfast was one of the best we have had in our travels. Only downside was the amenities, as there was only one sort of shampoo/hand wash/ body wash in the bathroom, and there was no coffee machine in the room. But such small issues were not enough to lower our 5 star review:)!"
