Trieste Old Town Hotels near Trieste

"It’s a nice big space, with a big table, an ample shower and loo including a washing machine, and a little kitchenette with a fancy espresso machine (with only 2 pods provided, and we were unable to find more which fit the machine in the shops). It’s in a very central location in the little lanes in the old Ghetto near the Piazza Unità d’Italia. Hence, it’s charming but hard to find, and the instructions did not help us find it. Cars and taxis cannot get all the way to the door, though it’s not far from a drop off/pick up point. Check-in is via zoom on a panel by the door. The lady who checked us in on the screen was very helpful but was initially tied up on another call. We are old fogies and much prefer a real person, from whom we can ask questions about the locale, and get maps etc. There were no maps or tourist information provided in the flat, but the Tourist Office is very nearby and of course Google & Google Maps. And a screen in the window would be helpful, as there are a few mosquitoes around. However, the flat was clean, airy and pleasant."

"We arrived from a cruise ship. Google maos indicated a half mile walk, but it was closer to one mile. They held our bags until the room was ready. The room was great with a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was the typical, with cold cuts, cereal and pasteries. We would definately stay again."

"Information about checking in was poor. We arrived around 7pm thinking we would get a key from the desk - but the desk closed at 1 and you needed a code to get in. Fortunately a resident gave us the code and showed us the lockbox where our key was waiting in an envelope. We photographed our passports and emailed them as requested and asked for a later checkout. We didn’t get a response. The next morning I emailed again and was told no late checkout. When we went to checkout they said they didn’t get our email from the night before. In the end we were able to leave our bags for a few hours. So, while the apartment was fine, communication was not."

"Our flight was delayed, but staff gave us great welcome and upgraded our room for free. Room was clean and excellent view. Breakfast was amazing. I will definitely will be back and refer this hotel to my friends and family."

"Staff was very friendly and the room was clean and the included breakfast was great. The only downside was there was a couple of minor flaws in the room that could be corrected (a chip in the wall and the mirror and a stain on one of the decorative pillows). But the staff and atmosphere more than made up for it. "

"Overall this is a nice hotel. The big upside to me is that it is was very quiet and had the best sleep of this trip. Even though my room got quite warm at time because the AC was not on yet (traveled in May). The hotel is convenient and easily walkable to a number of city sites. The breakfast was fine and the staff quickly replaced items as they were depleted. The front desk was very helpful in making suggestions and recommendations. The bathrooms are tiny, even by European norms. I’m not a big guy but felt like I needed a shoehorn to get in/out of the shower. The security safe is comedically small—the Fiat Panda of hotel vaults—if you are traveling with a laptop or tablet no way in the world is it fitting."
