Skeabost House Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"We stayed in a Deluxe room with a phenomenal view of the loch. Room was quiet & well-kept with a comfortable bed. The hotel is a really great location, just 10 minute drive outside Portree. Staff was service-oriented & very friendly. We ate at the on-site restaurant every night b/c everything was delicious! Breakfast was also very good as well. The only negative was housekeeping... they did not do a very good job of tidying our room & we had run out of toilet paper that was not replaced... it was not enough to deduct a star, but worth mentioning. "

Sligachan Hotel

"Great hotel! Location isn’t exactly central, but there’s a bus stop right by the hotel, or it’s about a 15 minute drive to Portree. Plenty of trails and things to see within walking distance of the hotel too. Clean room, renovated bathroom, good food at the breakfast buffet and restaurant beside. The staff is really kind and helpful, I felt that they truly do their best to make each guest feel welcomed/cared for. I suppose the only downside is the wifi connection/data connection can be wonky due to the weather, but that’s just the case for Isle of Skye in general. If you’re staying in Isle of Skye I’d definitely recommend staying here! "

Bracken Hide Hotel

"Absolutely loved our visit to Bracken Hide hotel. The property is beautiful, the cabins are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The bed was comfy. We were cozy and warm. Our stay included breakfast which was fantastic and we ate dinner both nights at the restaurant and the food was delicious. This was a great base for us as we explored the Isle of Skye. They had a couple of cute little sheep on the property and they were just hanging out by the cabin the first morning. Love this place and wish we could have stayed longer and yes definitely would come back!! Best hotel of our whole vacation."

"The hotel room was spacious and clean. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant offered a great selection of food and the breakfast gave us a great start to the day! The hotel is ideally situated for catching the ferry to the islands or visiting the Fairy Glen or Old Man of Storr. Enjoyed a fantastic break."

Hame Hotel

"Hame Hotel is in Dunvegan, so it's a bit out of the way from Portree (where most people stay). That turned out to be a blessing - our area was quiet, free from traffic, and still convenient to many sights like the Fairy Pools, Talisker Distillery, Dunvegan Castle, and the Three Chimneys restaurant. By contrast, Portree was a nonstop traffic jam, even in September. Our room was comfortable, and breakfast was filling and tasty. We didn't have dinner at the hotel because we failed to make a reservation - keep that in mind if you want to get dinner here, Skye has a lot more tourists than locals, which means things can fill up quickly."
