Area is in central "walking zone" beside a tree lined park. Paid Parking on street; hotel offers some private parking at expense (becoming common in Germany). Breakfast included, which is becoming less common in Germany. Easy walking to central shopping and restaurants. Room was nicely furnished and clean. Old style stately hotel with high ceilings. Restaurant and bar appear well appointed.

Great central location for visiting the region. Very close to the main train station with direct connections into Munich, Salzburg, and regional tourist locations. Hotel breakfast is perfect to fuel you for the day. Rooms are cozy and well appointed.

Nicely remodeled over century old building. Interesting decoration in the hallways about the history of the building. Great breakfast buffet with lots of choices and flavors. Surprisingly quiet area being in the heart of the city of Traunstein.

Wasn't my first choice either time I stayed, but both times were pleasant experiences. I checked in after 10 p.m. which means there is no one at the desk. Basically check yourself in by going to the back entrance of the hotel and use a code that is sent to you to open a lockbox where there are keys to select for a room. Lots of aclektic arrangements, furniture, and decorationa in the hotel, which gives it lots of character. I actually would go back except the rooms are a bit expensive considering the size and overall comfort. €138 to €148 depending on the day of the week, even in Expedia. Does include a good breakfast spread though too.

Stopped here as it was "near" (an hour away) to the Eagle's Nest which we were visiting the following day and one if the more reasonably priced hotels available at short notice (€148). Hotel setting is lovely, parking our car opposite by the park in which we had our evening meal from a Steak House restaurant on the corner. Room was large, clean, quite dated but fit the style of the hotel which is over 100 years old. Good choice of breakfast in the morning. No negatives to call really, definately recommend.
