Wonderful location but disappointing cleanliness

Wonderful location right in front of Nelly Bay. We were required to clean all the kitchen utensils, etc. that we used prior to leaving. Not that much of a issue, but when we arrived the cups, utensils, pots, etc were grimy, so it looks like there is reliance on the previous guests to adequately clean and it’s not done by housekeeping prior to the next arrival. Tip to bring some insect repellant as there were a variety of bugs and insects outside and inside the unit. There were ants crawling around on the kitchen bench top, which we unfortunately spotted only after they got into our food. Also disappointed to have a pillow that had obvious mould on it. There was also some rust in the bathrooms, but this is to be expected since the property is in close proximity to the beach. Overall, not the best if you don’t like creepy crawlies and expect things to be clean on arrival. The property is lovely, but their housekeeping is not up to par.

A lovely villa with everything we needed. A bit worn in parts but clean and very comfortable with lovely veranda and small but nice pool

Overall, the villa itself is in reasonably good condition, but the tiled common walkway really needs to be re-done as most of the tiles are cracked or chipped and many are covered with lichen and moss and are very slippery when it rains.
