"Super cheap and cheerful. Nothing outstanding. Resorts and rooms very tired. Food was decent however drinks were not. No beer in restaurant, no ice creams included, snacks poor. Dinner times chaotic. We stayed for 4 nights - it’s not no where near as good as some of the reviews, but it isn’t terrible either. Just bang average. Water park pools bitterly cold (all except main) towels for pool a pain. Ours got soaked in a storm and initially they wouldn’t give us new ones as you’re only allowed to swap them every 2 days - and you need a deposit for them. Staff mostly unhelpful. A few stars - bag man was great, and cleaners were really good, as was the man who owned the shop on site.
Showers went nuclear hot to stone cold all the time. Not good if you have kids! Our shower had tile missing and filler everywhere.
Generally very tired. I presume 10 years ago it was the crown, not its more like a travelodge with extras. Hassle to check in, hassle to check out.
Overall I’d give it 5.5 maybe 6 out of 10."
"Great hotel with lots of slides etc. Kids loved it and something for the adults too, to keep them busy. Staff very helpful and freindly. Indoor pool is very warm however very small. Night entertainment can be improved as is fairly basic. "
"The hotel is very beautiful with absolutely stunning gardens – the grounds really make a big impression and create a wonderful atmosphere. The food is very good and the staff is polite and friendly.
However, you need to be very careful with room location. Rooms not facing the garden are very noisy, which can significantly affect the stay. Communication by email is also quite poor – we never received replies to some of our emails, including one regarding flowers that were delivered to the hotel and were unfortunately of very poor quality.
Overall, we have mixed feelings. On one hand, it is a wonderful and impressive hotel, especially because of the gardens. On the other hand, small issues like noise and lack of email communication negatively affect the overall experience. We would still recommend the hotel, but strongly advise choosing a garden-facing room and confirming important requests in advance."
"Great stay! Free upgrade to a suite! Plenty of choice at breakfast. Huge pools. Area is very walkable into the Medina there are taxis out the front waiting of you do need one. I would stay here again! "
