"We absolutely loved staying at the Hotel Posada San Jose. The views of Cuenca from our room and from the dining room were priceless and so beautiful! The staff was warm and welcoming and very helpful. You step outside of the hotel and you are within walking distance of all of the lovely sites of the historic center of Cuenca. I loved the "old way" of leaving your big room key at the front desk. "

"Outstanding location in the old town close to the main square with free car parking just beyond the ruined castle (if you can find a space - can get very busy!). You should pay for the rooms with views out over the canyon - we were on the top floor and the view was stunning! Very positive that the hotel was dog-friendly and lived up to that, with there being no problem to enter the breakfast area with our labrador. "Pros - Friendly and efficient staff, bed very comfortable, breakfast quite good, complementary wine at checkout. Cons - sensor over bed has annoying red leds which flash all night. Curtains difficult to open."

"Great except for the music in the foyer that could be hear gently weeping through the bedroom walls during siesta. Perfect other than that. Personally we loved the fact that it was a family friendly hotel with lots of kids running around - also dog friendly too 😊😘"
