Best B&B in Torquay...by Miles!

This is a fantastic Period house B&B with an interesting history. Completely immaculate and attention to detail is second to none. Hosts are lovely welcoming people and the breakfast is the best we have ever had, anywhere. Love this B&B.

Beautiful Guest House

This is a really beautiful (Victorian?) Villa type establishment, with lots of period features and high ceilings, as well wonderful big bays (in a way only the Victorians knew how to do well). The proprietors are very pleasant and friendly. Our room was absolutely spotlessly clean, fresh and comfortable. Even though the carpet was light colour pile, there was not a mark on it. The room was large, with a nice comfortable King Size Bed, a sofa, and large TV. I hate it when the room has a tiny TV that you need binoculars to see! The bathroom consisted a good size shower cubicle, WC, sink etc., and was equally clean and fresh. Not even the merest hint of mould around the silicone sealing (which is something that there more often than not is, so a good sign of regular maintenance). One very minor thing, very surprising given the eye to detail everywhere else - no toilet roll holder!! Loo roll just loose (for placing on window ledge etc.) Breakfast was superb, in a comfortable dining room, with a choice of fresh fruit, yoghurt, porridge, cereal etc., and followed by a full breakfast (other options too). All the ingredients were good quality.

Very neat, quiet and nice hotel.

A nice hotel which is very neat and proper. We had the room downstairs. New bathroom and nice view in the garden. The owning couple were very nice and friendly. It is a 7 mins walk to the boulevard. When you walk down you pass hotel the Grand which has a very good brasserie where you can eat small meals for a neat price at any time with a great view on the bay. Breakfast was very good. It is a 25 minute walk to the centre ! Bus is there but quite expensive for the short ride (2 pounds) . Car is cheaper to park.

Das ideale Bed&Breakfast

Wir haben eine wundervolle Woche 'at home' bei Nigel und Elfie verbracht. Dieses absolut perfekte Bed&Breakfast mit seiner liebevoll gestalteten Gartenoase in idealer Lage wenige Meter von der Seafront entfernt bietet Ruhe und Erholung von dem vor allem in der Hauptferienzeit turbulenten Badeort. Alle Wünsche werden einem von den Augen abgelesen und sofort erfüllt. Wir hatten ein schönes großes Zimmer mit Gartenblick mit einem ganz neu renovierten Bad - alles war bestens gepflegt und komfortabel. Wir freuen uns jetzt schon auf ein Wiedersehen mit Nigel und Elfie und können diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Helt underbart B&B. Jag ville inte lämna rummet. Det går faktiskt att tycka om brittiska heltäckningsmattor. Det är ett hotell för avkoppling men inte för dig som vill vara mitt i nöjeslivet.

Wonderful stay in a great hotel

My wife and I stayed at Cloudlands for 4 nights and everything about the hotel was first class. We stayed in room 2 with a king size bed, bath and shower, comfy chairs and free Wi-Fi. Both our room and the hotels lounge and breakfast area had recently been redecorated to a high standard. Our room looked out over a lovely garden and had a garden table & chairs should we wish to sit outside. Unfortunately the hotel could do nothing about the weather so we didn't get the opportunity! The breakfasts were freshly cooked and very good, the owners very hospitable and friendly. The hotel is in a very quite location with a very nice walk along the sea front into the centre of Torquay

Einfach nur genial! Super freundlich und guter Service! Frühstück war spitze! 15min lauf zum Zentrum aber der Weg geht entlang dem Meer und ist wunderschön!

Very nice stay

Myself and my wife stayed at cloudlands and both thought it was excellent, we had a double deluxe room which was beautifully furnished and was spotless throughout, the food was also very good , I would not think twice about a return visit many thanks

A quiet and welcoming place to stay

Great stay, friendly owners and excellent home cooked breakfasts with plenty of choice and willingness to serve what you fancy. Lovely views from breakfast room and very quiet at night. I'll stay here again if I'm in the area.

Great Weekend

Booked a last miniute get away and was surpised at how lucky I was with the Cloudlands. The welcome was great as was the accomadation and felt throughout my stay that nothing would be to much trouble. Would definitly stay again and would highly recomend

lovely hotel stay

Our second time at cloudlands,so good we came again, lovely quiet hotel, spotlessly clean, super breakfast. Nigel and Elvie really make you feel at home from arrival to departure.

A peach of a guest house!

We booked our holiday very last minute, never having stayed in Torquay before. We decided to travel by train - straight through from Stafford, which made our journey completely stress free. When we arrived in Torquay it was only a very short walk to Cloudlands, up a country lane, but so close to the sea! The guest house surpassed our expectations - it was perfect and we can't wait to visit again next year. Nigel was so helpful with his maps and printouts, and Elvie was warm and friendly. The breakfasts were lovely and the spotless, well-furnished room had a small sitting area with TV and coffee table.Nothing was too much trouble, and we felt it was a home from home experience. The garden was a picture and was available for the guests to use. Leaving the car behind was a great idea - we explored the area by bus, train and ferry (and foot!) and discovered more this way. Can't recommend it highly enough, but would really like to keep it a secret so we can be assured of a vacancy next time!

a slice of british way of life and sweetness

the location :very convenient, a few minutes walk from the railway, near buses stop to Torquay, or if you like the sports way 20 mn to torquay center along the seaside. quiet and confortable. the room n°10 is very sunny. the vegeterian breakfast is as good as the full english. well organized house. Very kind hosts
