Toronto hotel rooms a the Independent

"The room we had this time was a nice size, but close to the elevators which we could hear running most of the night (the actual mechanics of the elevators), however I have also stayed in a smaller room before that was slightly less comfortable, so I think it just depends where you are on the floor. Regardless, the service was great, ind love the hotel, amazing upgraded gym, and super comfortable beds."

"Great for families-fun pool and game center - great location too but overall the staff was the best part. We had a scare when our son with autism stepped into the elevator that opened before we got closer and it closed as we were running up to it and the hotel and their security went into full search mode. Checked cameras and alerted staff on all levels and even texted us later after he was found to check in on us. It was so scary but they were so helpful and made us feel like their first priority."

"Rooms were clean but in need of upgrades like new caulk in bathroom etc. lots of Parking but not all parking is conveniently located to entrances. Would stay there again "

"This property was close to transit which we found very convenient. Easy walking distance to cafes, restaurants and grocery stores. I believe our room was renovated but there was still wallpaper peeling off the walls and it didn’t look completely finished. There were some pots and pans available but when we didn’t have the right size, the front desk was able to find us smaller sizes. "

"The staff is fantastic. The hotel itself however, is old. Damage on the walls and doors is visible. The elevators are quirky, the toilets temperamental and the walls thin. There is no soundproofing between rooms. The gym needs an overhaul. I did love the full service restaurant and lounge and there are many dining options in the area."
