"The hotel is new with nice high ceilings, spacious rooms and lovely public areas. The location is great for the beach. The staff were pleasant and the breakfast was surprisingly excellent. We had some issues though. The rooms aren’t very soundproof so screaming children across the hall kept us up till midnight. The AC unit in our room sounded like a transport truck and at 8 am construction workers started pouring asphalt and tamping it down right outside our window. Not only could we hear every word they were yelling to each other but the bed shook from the tamper and the trucks. It was incredibly loud. We obviously couldn’t sleep any longer. So noise is an issue! The side door to the stairwell wasn’t catching so was open to the outside allowing anyone to come in, enter the hotel and access all the hallways. We mentioned it twice to the front desk who just said they would send someone to look at it. But three days later it was still like that. Not sure we would stay again due to these concerns."

"The presidentail suite is definitely "paradise on the beach" as advertised. Unit was well stocked and comfortable--lots of towels, pillows, and even an extra comforter if it got cool. The outside sitting area is wonderful--comfortable Muskoka chair and the beautiful view of the Port Elgin beach and sunsets."
