Things to do in Puntarenas Province

Activities, attractions and tours

If you ever go to Costa Rica, you have to stop by Cabo Matapalo, close to Corcovado. You won't see that many tourists there. And on top of the beautiful spot, if you're lucky you'll encounter colourful frogs, toucans, howler monkeys and spider monkeys... as we did :)

At first I was disappointed to have rain, but It made for a great hike. After all, that's why they call it the rain forest!
After releasing Green Turtle hatchlings during the late afternoon, I was convinced to stay behind for the sunset. We passed the time by throwing coconuts around, having a good laugh, and taking photos of each other. Then, all of us looked up and thought, "This is truly Costa Rica, absolutely gorgeous".
A circuit of 10 zip lines, bridges, and butterfly garden. Ends with a really good costa rican lunch. The trip starts in Quepos and they take your group on a 30 minute van drive inland through palm plantations and green foothills. A great 5-hour adventure for families. $75 pp. www.canopysafari.com
