Part of Maui’s popular “Turtle Town” which runs from Nahuna Point to Black Sand Beach, Maluaka’s discreet entrance is easy to miss, making it less crowded and more laid-back than some of its better-known neighbours.

In the looming shadow of the Pu’u Olai crater, Makena Beach State Park is a wild area of stunning natural beauty. Swimmers, sunbathers and bodyboarders will find it hard to choose between the park’s three diverse beaches, each with its own special attraction.

The massive shield volcano of Haleakalā, otherwise known as the East Maui Volcano, takes up a huge proportion of the island of Maui. It sits within the Haleakalā National Park and is home to the iconic Haleakalā or "House of the Sun" Crater. Visitors from far and wide come to watch the sunrise from this magnificent vantage point and to get away from the hustle and bustle of the island's beaches.
