Things to do in Nature's Valley

The magnificent Tsitsikamma National Park is spread over valleys, rugged mountains and a sweeping coastline. Hike through the scenic landscapes, explore the coursing Storms River and try extreme sports. Tsitsikamma National Park is part of the Garden Route National Park and stretches approximately 50 miles (80 kilometers) along South Africa’s southern coast.

Stay in Plettenberg Bay and spend your days on Central Beach, one of the busiest beaches in Plett. Head here for thrills on the water, wildlife watching excursions and oceanfront restaurants. Pick up new skills such as surfing and scuba diving or simply soak up the South African sun on warm, golden sand.

Nature’s Valley Beach is a lovely setting in a picturesque resort area overlooking a scenic river lagoon and the Indian Ocean. The area surrounding the beach consists of lush green forests that sweep across the terrain between mountains and ocean. Sunbathe on the soft white sand of the long beach that is massaged by warm waters.

Go hiking across a peninsula of striking rock formations and reach breathtaking lookout points at Robberg Nature Reserve. Spot majestic marine wildlife and flocks of colorful bird species. Visit a historic lighthouse and relax on secluded beaches. Robberg Nature Reserve sits on a headland at the southern tip of Plettenberg Bay and extends offshore for almost 1.2 miles (2 kilometers) into the Indian Ocean.

Arch Rock, also known as Cathedral Rock, is a beachfront rock formation with a couple of intriguing openings. It is along part of a scenic trail in Keurboomstrand. Ocean waves lap the base of this natural phenomenon, which is said to have once held spiritual significance to indigenous people. Capture photos of the picturesque arch and the smaller hole above it that resembles a cathedral’s rose window.
