4. Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Station

Skyrail Rainforest Cableway takes you on a journey over the pristine World Heritage-listed tropical rain forest north of Cairns. Glass-encased gondolas ferry up to six people at a time over the canopy, above Barron Gorge and down into the rain forest. The rail spans 7.5 kilometres (4.6 miles) and takes between 1.5 and 2.5 hours return.

5. Sugar Wharf

Each luxury yacht or sailing catamaran going out to the Great Barrier Reef or coming back to port passes the historic structure of the Sugar Wharf on the Dickson Inlet.
