Getting to Mt Huashan from Xian was a challenge, but the reward was great. the views you get from this Taoist sacred mountain are unbelievable. Making it to the 5 peaks was an exhausting workout but the whole experience was a blast.

Huashan is about 120 km east of Xian, about 2/12 to 3 hrs ride from the city.

Five peaks make up this mountain, namely : Cloud Terrace Pea (North Peak, 1610 m), Jade Maiden Peak (Middle Peak, 2040 m ), Sunrise Peak (East Peak, 2100 m), Lotus Peak (West Peak , 2040 m), and Landing Wild Goose Peak (South Peak, 2160 m ).

This mountain has steep, vertical cliffs and plunging ravines . The views are breathtaking but definitely not for the acrophobic and the faint-hearted.
We took the cable car to The North Peak, was the most amazing cable car ride i'd ever been on. It's very steep and very high !

I wonder how some people manage to hike up the mountain, I take my hat off to them.
