An der Südflanke geht es Aufwärts zum Monte Marmontana ( 2316 m.ü.M.). Der Berg liegt genau im Grenzbereich zwischen der Schweiz und Italien. In der Bildmitte liegt der Cima di Cugn (2180 m.ü.M.) mit dem gleichnamigen Rifugio. Links unten ist der Passo San Jorio (2010 m.ü.M.), Grenzpunkt zwischen Italien und der Schweiz. In der Ferne ist der Lago Maggiore zu sehen.
Auf dem Gipfel des Monte Marmontana ( 2316 m.ü.M.) über den genau die Grenze zwischen der Schweiz und Italien verläuft. Hier geht der Blick zum Passo San Jorio (2010 m.ü.M.) (links im Bild) und dann weiter zum Lago Maggiore bis zum mächtigen Monte Rosa.
