Things to do in Cape Hillsborough

Activities, attractions and tours

Easily the BEST campsite in this region of Queensland. We only booked two nights and regretted it. Could have easily spent a week here! This was the view from our private access to Smalleys Beach from our campsite. No trickery, this is the actual view! We are not professional photographers, this is nature at its finest.

Be sure to pre-book your campsite as this campgrounds fills up (easy to see why). During summer you cannot swim in the water due to the Marine Stingers in North Queensland, however from May - October you are safe to enjoy these pristine waters.

Wake up early when visiting Cape Hillsborough National Park to see the kangaroos graze on the beach at sunrise. They're not afraid of humans, but there can be a lot of people gathering, so make sure to get there early, before the sun has risen over the island. A zoom lens is also very useful!
