American Museum The American Museum in Britain located 4 miles east of Bath opened to the public in 1961. Built about 1820 and was called Claverton Manor On 26 July 1897 when he was 23, Winston Churchill made his first political speech here.

The hill to the right is the bottom of Lansdown hill, and the countryside between is north Somerset looking toward Farmborough and Pensford.
