Seasons Inn Traverse City
8/10 Good
"When I arrived, the woman who checked me in was INCREDIBLE. She legitimately gave a master class in hospitality. Friendly, funny, informative, and fast! She had me checked in and ready to go in no time and was truly awesome.
During check-in, I mentioned that I might need to extend my stay an extra night. She assured me it wouldn't be an issue and told me to just let them know the next day.
I had a great night's sleep and, sure enough, ended up needing to stay another night, so I made my way down to the front desk.
Unfortunately, the woman from the previous evening had been replaced by a gentleman who seemed to have absolutely no idea what was going on. Suddenly, extending my stay was apparently something only a manager could handle, which was especially confusing considering rooms were still available.
I didn't have the luxury of waiting "a few hours" for a manager to arrive because I was in town on business. So instead, I packed up all my stuff first thing in the morning, checked out, and gave my money to a hotel literally across the street.
Besides that very confusing (and frustrating) interaction, it's a very nice hotel. But respectfully, you're only as strong as your weakest link.
If you can get everyone on the level of the young woman who checked me in, you've got something pretty special here. She was phenomenal and deserves some recognition."
"Location was fabulous, right on the beach and we enjoyed watching the sunsets each night. We felt like we were in Florida. Staff was accomadating, pool area was excellent. We liked that breakfast each morning was delivered to our room and we were not locked into a set time to get down to eat. Balcony could have used some cleaning, but we did not have a lakeside room and didn't spend much time out there..... everything else was great. Highly recommend this resort and definately would stay again!"
"This was a nice clean room - not all units have the kitchen and living room area, so be aware of that. Location was really great - just walked everywhere! A great place."
"This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! The breakfast is amazing, with many hot options, fresh fruit, bread, muffins, and more. The water park is wonderful, and there are plenty of additional activities for kids to enjoy besides the water park.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is well-maintained and clean.
The only areas for improvement are the fitness center, as there are no weights, bars, or weight machines, and the parking fee, which is quite expensive. In my opinion, it doesn’t make sense to charge guests for parking when they are already paying to stay at the hotel."
"Some confusion about quality of room I booked. Front desk staff could have been a bit nicer explaining that to me.
Overall great property, andd DC enjoyed our stay."
"The 5 stars are all about the location. The perfect spot to see Traverse City. There are a few negatives, the main elevator does not work so all guests must use the service elevator which is worn and the wait can seem like several minutes. The top floor restaurant has a beautiful view but because the main elevator is broken you have to either take the service elevator which opens into this old dirty kitchen area or the stairs which for a couple approaching 70 can be daunting. BUT as said, the location and friendly staff out trumped the poor perception of the elevator situation just be advised. Also the restaurant staff and offerings were off but with the location there are many other options."
