Right on the canal up from the old city but close to train station, too, the hotel is perfectly located. Great vibe to the lobby and pub on site. Nice rooms. And great pubs and restaurants right outside the door.

Lovely Leiden

Nice,traditional period hotel, overlooking a canal. 5 adjacent buildings joined together with antique furniture here and there. Friendly, helpful reception, nice breakfast. Super location for wandering around the very attractive university town of Leiden. Only downside is that cars have to be parked 800 metres away in Haagweg public car park. ( expect to pay about €23 overnight).

Stayed for two nights to visit family. Hotel clean, typical dutch building steep staircases, but nice views from secon floor and very quiet at night as Leiden is relatively car free in the centre. Hotel has nice old world feel.

Very cosy hotel with unique character.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast very good with amazing freshly baked bread straight from the oven! The hotel is in a very historic building, so the rooms are rather basic, but this is part of the charm in my opinion. Location is excellent, right in heart of historic Leiden with shops and restaurants very close by. Very cosy hotel with unique character.

very nice hotel

Was in Leiden for the university for a few days. Convenient neighborhood, everything perfectly comfortable and clean. The building's a bit old but in good condition. Only thing to be aware of is that there's no elevator - my room was on the third floor, and I was happy I'd packed light.

Beautiful downstairs reception and bar; great to have storage for our bikes. Super breakfast and breakfast room. Lovely to have interesting ornaments and antiques in display. A minor criticism was the lack of umbrellas to borrow as it was raining hard when we arrived.

Lovely location

Had a short business trip to Leiden and wanted a historic hotel on the water. The location was lovely, the room clean and comfortable, and the hotel had a quaint charm about it. Unfortunately there was construction next door and renovations in the building. If I go back to Leiden I would still consider staying here again but would ask about any activity within and around the hotel.

The place is right in the center of Leiden, which is awesome. My room was on the opposite side of a busy street, so I couldn’t really hear any noise from outside. There’s no elevator though, so if you’re unlucky, you’ll be hauling your bags up two flights of stairs. The room numbers are kind of all over the place, so it took a bit to figure out where mine was. The room and the building are definitely on the older side—could be a plus if you’re into that kind of vibe. One thing that bugged me was how strict they were about check-in. I thought the check-in time was already kind of late, but I wasn’t even allowed to pay or do anything when I got there early. Everything had to be done strictly during their set check-in hours, which felt weird since most places I’ve stayed at are way more chill about that.

very average hotel

A very average hotel in a good location. The room I was in was dark even during the middle of the day. No coffee/tea making facilities in the room. The room was also facing onto a noisy bar and on one of the 2 nights I stayed there there was noise coming from the streets right into the middle of the night. The hotel staff however were friendly and helpful.

Hôtel avec un charme typique "canal house" dans la vieille ville de Leyde. Ne cherchez pas d'ascenseur et attention aux escaliers assez raides. Deco à l'ancienne, très agréable et typique. Personnel sympathique et serviable.

Gezellig hotel middenin het centrum van Leiden. Dat maakt meteen dat het niet zo stil is ‘s nachts. Enkele ramen bv. Het is een oud historisch pand, dus ook wel begrijpelijk. Dat bepaalt ook de sfeer. Aardig en behulpzaam personeel. Al met al een fijn verblijf!
