It was so peaceful and quiet - an oasis after a long day. Staff was very nice but not always available - hence the 4. Breakfast needed an option for gluten free people but otherwise perfect for our needs

Nice and quiet location, very quaint. It’s inside Sweet Briar’s college grounds, which on a busy day requires registration at the entry security gate, no issues there, just a quick checkpoint for college traffic safekeeping we learned. The Inn itself is well maintained for an older building. However age is not an issue, all standard hotel amenities are up to date. While this area is very convenient for the college, our destination was the town of Lynchburg, which worked well for our stay. All in all a well maintained establishment.

The property was amazing! With a puppy as part of our family, we especially enjoyed walking the campus which was quiet and beautiful. The room was clean and staff very helpful. Highly recommend!

Very friendly and helpful staff, reasonable price, and very clean room. The furnishings were dated and it feels pretty old. But it had fresh paint and the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. My A/C couldn’t keep up so it was pretty warm. I had to sleep with just the sheet. But the area was so beautiful and I loved the nature and walking trails. And like I said helpful staff, clean, and good coffee. :-)

This was one of the most pleasant stays at a "hotel" I've ever experienced, I would have happily stayed more than one night if needed. The setting is lovely and peaceful. The room was quiet at night and our beds were comfortable. Our room faced the woods with a patio which we spent a lot of time on. The facility is on the older side, but everything was clean and organized and we had everything we needed. You can park close to your room and I love that it's only 2 stories with outside access (like a motel). Staff was all very friendly. My ONLY suggestions would include 1. a protein option for breakfast- in fairness it is a continental breakfast, but there really aren't any close restaurants in the area (at least breakfast options) it was a lot of bread/carbs and sugar. And 2. with being on the ground floor, it would be nice to have an additional security/lock on the sliding glass door to the patio- it's just a simple latch, which felt a little insecure. Overall we had a wonderful experience and I would absolutely come back! Good job Sweet Briar! I feel like we found a gem!

It’s hard to believe I have no complaints. The staff were very helpful and kind. The room was spacious clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. You park right in front of the building and no parking fee. The grounds were beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

I was not able to place 5 stars for everything only gave me up to 4 stars as a maximum. This place exceeded all expectations. We will definitely be rebooking as we travel north on 29 several times a year. It gives us a perfect halfway point to rest. Beautiful setting!
