"The host was very kind, welcoming by leaving our keys out despite of the late check in and holiday, and the property itself was nicely maintained. We appreciated the hospitality and could tell there was effort put into making guests feel comfortable. Since there were no staff available during our stay due to the holiday, it was thoughtful that they left the closet open with extra sheets and towels in case guests needed anything, which we appreciated. However, there were a few things that made our stay more challenging than expected. I didn’t realize beforehand that the property was located in a fairly remote area, which made getting around a little more difficult than anticipated. Since there were no staff present because of the holiday, it also felt a bit isolating at times if assistance had been needed. Although we were able to lock our room door, we didn’t feel completely secure because the main entrance doors were left open overnight. This made us a little uneasy from a safety standpoint. Additionally, there was a noticeable musky smell that became somewhat bothersome during our stay and affected overall comfort. Overall, the host was kind and accommodating, and there were thoughtful touches throughout the stay. With clearer expectations about the remote location, improvements to ventilation, and more attention to building security, the experience could be even better."

The interior is warm and thoughtfully designed, with soft lighting, cozy seating, and inviting spaces to relax. Large windows bring in natural light and enhance the calm atmosphere. Meals are simple and satisfying in a relaxed bistro style. The buffet breakfast is fantastic, with a wide variety of fresh options. A wonderful touch is the 24 hour trust station with snacks, drinks, and complimentary water, which makes the stay feel effortless. Step outside to gentle walking paths and open sky that invite you to slow down and reconnect with nature. A simple, beautiful escape. Deutsch Das Berghotel Kristall wirkt vom ersten Moment an beruhigend, eingebettet in eine ruhige Landschaft mit weitem Blick. Die Einrichtung ist warm und durchdacht, mit sanftem Licht, gemütlichen Sitzbereichen und einladenden Rückzugsorten. Große Fenster lassen viel Tageslicht herein und verstärken die entspannte Atmosphäre. Die Mahlzeiten sind einfach und gut, im Bistro-Stil serviert. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist hervorragend und bietet eine große Auswahl an frischen Speisen. Besonders angenehm ist die 24-Stunden-Vertrauensstation mit Snacks, Getränken und kostenlosem Wasser. "We stayed here Aug 2025 to visit our cousins who live in the area. We booked through Expedia so we did not expect the best room (it seems like typically we get better rooms when booking through the hotel directly but a better rate booking through Expedia). Our room was on the first floor but was slightly above ground level. There is no AC and there were no fans. But there was a cute balcony with two seats. The room was clean. We checked-in quickly and were not offered any maps or instructions about the hotel (there is a pool but we were not told where it was although we also didn't have time to use it anyway). The location was perfect for us. We were able to walk around the lake (the Bostalsee) and drive to our cousins' houses. They do offer a few amenities although we were not told about these amenities when we checked -in (we were only told that the breakfast was $29 Euros PP if we wanted to add it.). Parking was free and easy, checkout was quick and easy and a little friendlier than check-in. We felt like this is mostly a local German vacation hotel and not as welcoming to non-German travelers. "
