My husband and I stayed one night and we had an amazing time. The onsen was spacious, clean, very comfortable, a beautiful scenery of nature. It was an absolute delight. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, cozy, very cute and we'll equipped. The dinner was the best meal we have had in Japan. Absolutely delicious! There was so much work into every bite, great flavor, beautiful presentation, amazing attention from the staff. We absolutely enjoyed our stay, the onsen, the dinner, everything. Simply perfect!
Watarase is a traditional Japanese onsen hotel not glamorous but very comfortable with spacious Japanese style rooms excellent food and friendly service
There are four large private outdoor onsens to choose from as well as huge outdoor public onsens
Highly recommended
we spent a night in the hotel so we can start hiking Kumano Kodo early next day. nice hotel, they claim they have the biggest outdoor hot spring pool, but we used smaller family pool, the setting is very like outdoor pool.
