"This little town and the place we stayed was the highlight of our trip to Japan. First of all, the town itself was such a breath of fresh air after being in the middle of Tokyo most of the week. "This is a very nice hotel! Pay for the breakfast, it's a buffet and it's really good. It changes every day too. Be advised not much English is spoken this far out, so brush up on you Japanese. Great Hot Spring Inn, Convenient Station Location
"Great carbonated hot spring in the basement, open through the night on weekdays. We loved the free nighttime ramen service and the inn's close proximity to the JR Koriyama Shinkansen Station (access is via a covered walkway from the station, very handy for rainy or snowy conditions). They were unfortunately very strict about the check-out time of 10 AM and wanted to charge us 1,000 yen per person per hour for late check-out."
