Nice clean rooms, friendly staff, and the breakfast was perfect. It's close to several restaurants, bars, cafes, and a grocery store. The beach and the main strip in Tamarindo are about a 10-15 min walk but we liked this as it kept it very quiet in the room. We stayed for 5 days without a car and did not feel we needed one. Felt more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel, which was a nice surprise. Definitely recommend

We had a great stay at La Ramona. It’s was as described in the property description. The owners and staff were all very kind and the breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately they had construction going on while we were there in November which lead to early morning wake ups due to the noise.

The name is fitting...charming! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at La Ramona. The hotel is tucked away in a neighborhood away from the main strip, which is what we wanted. The staff were friendly and helpful. The communal kitchen had everything we needed, including a made-to-order breakfast every morning. Our room had an outside bathtub and shower on a private patio. It was very quaint and romantic. We enjoyed our stay and would go back. Thank you!

Small charming hotel, as the name suggests. Rooms are spacious and hotel has a swimming pool centrally located in the centre. The best part of the rooms was the bed, which was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept on. Daily housekeeping. Hotel is in a quiet area, which we appreciated, especially when the bars were rocking, but still walkable to the centre of town and the beach. The only meal option is breakfast, served between 08:00 and 10:00, and made to order.

having spent almost two weeks in CR, I was used to bugs. but not bugs everywhere in the room - on the bathroom countertops, on my towel, or on my face and pillow when i’m asleep, especially for a 4 star hotel. poor water pressure. the water also had a yellow tint and the bathroom/faucets smelled like rotten eggs that permeated throughout the room. the clean towels and sheets had hair in them. the mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. the location was close to town, but even the hotel manager told me not to walk alone at night on the dirt road leading back to the hotel. i’m used to inconveniences while traveling but for the price, i expected much better.
