"Sofia Studios was great value considering the incredible central location it has in Coimbra. It was exceptionally clean and very easy to check in to. Staff are on hand during the day and are very helpful. Our only criticism is that he bathroom is really small with almost no counter space. As well, it's a lot of stairs to the third floor! Normally that wouldn't be a factor for us - and it was completely as advertised - but my wife sprained her knee earlier in our Portugal trip. For anybody with mobility issues, try to request the first floor (and even then there's two flights of stairs)."

The hotel has a lovely outdoor garden setting restaurant, perfect for a glass of wine and a bite to eat after a day of sightseeing. If you have an early start, beware that breakfast is from 8.00am, and we had to order a breakfast box, which isn’t ideal; l have fed back that breakfast should start earlier from 6.30am for a continental style. Good location and next to the old town and main street"
