"This property is in a convenient location close to Sydney's Central Rail Station, CBD and Circular Quay. There are numerous dining options, plus grocery and convenience stores very close by. The property, itself, is in reasonable shape but could use a bit of a refresh. I booked a room with a balcony, and fortunately, they put me on the 7th floor bc the balcony door did not lock. I discussed this with reception staff, who informed me that it didn't need a lock! Why would I expect that (a question I was asked)? I was offered to move into a room without a balcony, so there was that. Just an fyi that their balcony doors don't lock. The room was clean enough with adequate amenities. Bed was comfortable, and it is in a quiet area. There are 2 restaurants on site not directly associated with the hotel. One serves breakfast and lunch, and the other serves dinner. Both are good enough and convenient."

"I've stayed at 57 Hotel more than once. Highly recommended for its location close to Sydney's Central Rail station and not far from the CBD and Circular Quay (both within easy walking distance). Also easy walking distance to Hay Street area and Surrey HIlls' Crown/Bourke Street areas. Lots of places to eat of varying quality and price range. The hotel is clean and quiet with comfortable beds. My only minor issue is that they do not provide a kettle and coffees/teas in the room. Yes, the lobby has 24/7 free coffee/tea from a better coffee dispenser, plus they have free fruit and various muffins and rolls in the morning, which is good. However, I do like to make a quick cuppa upon arising in the morning, and it's a hassle to get dressed and go downstairs to get it (yes, very first world problem). A kettle would be an easy room addition. There is a fridge, so no problem providing some type of milk or creamer. Otherwise a reasonably priced, easy access, quiet place to stay for a few nights. Always feel safe in this area, but I used to live close to here some years ago (so it's very familiar)."
