Very Quiet hotel in nice area

Lovely staff who helped us as soon as we asked for anything. Really quiet, Nice pool, comfy bed. The bathroom was a bit tired but clean and well stocked with towels, etc. It’s a 10 minute walk to the Museum Train Station and then only one stop to Circular Quay so easy access to the central city. Great little cafe around the corner for breakfast and lunch and several places just up the road on Oxford Street. We walked to Prince Albert Park 20 mins away, with public swimming pool and kids playgrounds.

Great location, Great Value

The hotel might be on the older side & may need renovating in the near future, but the location of the place & bed comfort were fantastic. Cleaning of the rooms need improving too.

Overall not good experience

Duty manager behavior was not good. After 20 minutes of booking , he said not have any confirmation. When I argue then after few minutes say receive confirmation but not fully so I need to make booking manually take 30 minutes to give room . At midnight waiting so long with children was very much disappointing.

Shower was horrible! Absolutely no water pressure & barley a dribble of water. Hotel staff were lovely especially when we discovered that Expedia stuffed up the booking which was rather embarrassing when I was trying to charged a couple of thousand dollars!

Fan day

We are avid swans fans and have stayed at Abey and Cambridge on a number of occasions the staff and hotel are just wonderful they are always trying to make our stay a great one and yet again they have won us over

Nice room, good location

Great spot, nice room walking distance to everything. Clean tidy cosy room. On Checkout staff were rude however, which was a surprise because Check In staff were absolutely amazing.

Location and staff is the best

The location is perfect. It is close to everywhere bus stop is really close and the station is 5 min away by walk. There is near park which can relax. The hotel staff is very kind. Hotel looks old but nice the pool is open 8:30 pm. It is small. Thank you.

Nice hotel right in the middle of the action

We were looking for something clean and comfortable right near Darlinghurst but also needed some affordable. We will return here every time. In addition to ticking all of our main criteria, the staff were friendly and helpful.

Pool was the only good thing about this place

Won’t go back, arrived at 9.30pm, was travelling with myself and 2 small children, when arrived at reception we were told we were late and got a snide look. Things just got worse, reception also made a comment that we were “only in a Abey room” and apparently that isn’t as good as the others. Automatically made us feel second class. It is good location to the shops of Surry Hills.

Nice hotel. Good location. Suited our purpose.

Nice hotel close to SCG (which is what we wanted) and very reasonable price for family of four, particularly for a Saturday night. Easy to reach via public transport even late at night, and well situated to other attractions. Room was basic but clean and everything we needed when we were literally there to just sleep. Room was very stuffy when we entered and air con was very old and small so it did take quite a while to cool down. Left room door open for a while for ventilation. Bed was comfortable. Pool is in the centre of hotel so noise to rooms could be an issue but we did not have that at night time. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful both on the phone and in person. I was asked on checkout about my stay and if there was any comments about the room/items needing attention etc. That doesn't happen often. The personalised thankyou chocolate was also a lovely touch. We would look at staying again when in Sydney.

Fantastic Proximity

Fantastic position only a block from Oxford St and 10 minute walk into city and Hyde Park. Buses close too and eateries. I was put into a room with no window upon check-in and after ringing Reception, was immediately moved to a window room. Staff were warm and welcoming. Will definitely recommend and revisit.

Overpriced and bad vibe

This hotel is overpriced for what it provides. The toilet drains stank. Got a creepy vibe from the manager too. Free wifi and good location but on balance not worth it. Will not stay again.

Nice hotel great price

The hotel was good value for money, the room was of a generous size and bed/pillow was comfortable. Good location (and a great cafe around the corner that does the best cooked breakfast). The staff were pleasant and helpful. It was a short stay so didn't get to check out the hotel facilities but had a great sleep.

Unfortunately a terrible stay. Beds were uncomfortable, shower broke off the wall. Pool was out of service with no action being taken. Beware twin means single beds

Clean and close to city

Not an extravagant hotel but nice and close to the city. Roof was leaking into the pool but pool was closed for repair. House keeping staff was very attentive and communicative. Very noisy because of acoustics with indoor pool in the middle of the hotel.
