"What a great night at the Catherine wheel. We met Debbie when we checked in and she was so warm and friendly she made everything very easy for us. The room was clean, modern and very quaint. The food was outstanding in the restaurant with a good menu selection. There were 11 of us for dinner and you could tell everything was fresh and home made the pie was especially incredible. Thank you Catherine wheel we will be back again!! "

"Exceptional B&B in Beautiful English Countryside
We were looking for a scenic place to rest up after our overnight flight to the UK from the USA and found this amazing place.
Located in a beautiful, rural area with plenty to see and experience nearby. The property is stunning and very well-maintained.
John and Elizabeth were amazing hosts. Warm, genuinely friendly, accommodating, and fascinating in their own life experiences. It's not every day that you get to meet an Olympic medalist!

"Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, and although the bathroom seemed a little worn it was very clean. Breakfast was ok. The rooms we had were an upgrade from the ones we booked, I think. The hotel was situated in a lovely area, with walking available along the river and the canal, and a couple of villages close by, containing decent pubs and restaurants. I would stay there again."
"EV chargers not working - staff really unhelpful. We had to plan in somewhere else to charge the car which was hugely inconvenient. Also had to unexpectedly pay for parking. Bathroom wasn’t clean and had mould in the tile grout. Room was small and dated.
Lobby area was nice and breakfast set up was nice. However £14pp was expensive."
"Breakfast was nice. There is no gym. Staff is very helpful. Location is good. The room is not designed great, being narrow/constricted, the desk is narrow, the sitting area table is tiny, and the window does not open. The bathroom is poorly designed, so that you must open and close a large, heavy door in order to access the towel rack, and the shower is narrow and inflexible. All of these issues are manageable, and all of the problems with the hotel are due to the poor design of the rooms."
"We went to Oxford for a weekend and stayed at Linton lodge. We were very happy with our stay and the breakfast was great. A lovely 15min walk into the city centre with beautiful scenery.
The room was slightly dusty and in need of a bit of paint :)"
"Location was convenient, good transport links into the centre of Oxford and hotel was cheaper in cost than the more centrally located ones.
Room was compact, okay for a few nights but may have been more of an issue if staying for longer. No chair or table, no tea/coffee making facilities. The only bin was located in shower room.
Bed was comfortable but the room was far too hot even with the air con on. Window didn't open and air con too far away from the bed to make it effective. Made for an uncomfortable couple of nights sleep unfortunately.
Shower room was perfectly functional if quite small. A separate hand towel or hair towel would have been appreciated.
Overall it was a cheap hotel that was quite good value for money, just a few tweaks and it could have been excellent.
"
"Room was average. Clean. Shower was a good size.
Could have done with a few hooks both in bathroom and room.
However bed was so high, had to climb to get on to it. And pillows very thick. Just about managed two nights. Could not have handled a third night sleeping on them.
Breakfast was ok, not great but filled a whole.
Front of desk staff very knowledgeable and gave us good direction for places to eat out of the centre of Oxford.
The maps they had for park and ride etc were handy.
Average stay."
"They really need to change the beds and improve the food in the kitchen. Breakfast was better than the evening meal. Not being able to sleep well due to a shockingly poor bed is unacceptable."
"While the room was large and bedding was good, the room was too warm. The heat is centrally controlled. The air conditioner could not adequately compensate. The place is old and as such floors slant and can be disorienting. Dinner menu was acceptable but not spectacular for the ambiance of the hotel. "
