"The breakfast buffet is the same during our 6 days stay in Hotel Reykjavik Grand which is not good if you're staying on the same hotel for more than 2 days. We're supposed to go to a different city during our vacation in Iceland but my husband did not receive his driver's license in the mail on time, so we just decided to stay in one city. "

"We booked one of the cottage rooms and it was delightful for me, my husband, and my elderly parents. The loft room isn't really made for adults but we still had a blast and all the beds were comfy. The front desk staff was super helpful with directions, advice, and even let us borrow a plug adapter when we realized we brought the wrong one. The breakfast team was great as well, and even had gluten free bread available upon request. We would definitely return. The hotel is under construction but short of parking a bit further away, there was no inconvenience or noise issues."

"So I really wanted to give this place five stars. Its location for the area was ideal, and the private room was excellent. Also, the check in process was perfect; however, the shared bathroom situation was a bit off-putting. Now, I’ve stayed at many locations with shared bathrooms so that wasn’t the issue. The issue was that one of bathroom’s door didn’t quite lock. It seemed as if it did from the inside, but the lock was actually barely in the slot. On one occasion while I was sitting on the toilet another guest walked in on me… I’m afraid that Japanese tourist has been traumatized for life."

"The biggest concern here was the road noise from highway 41, it's very close to the hotel. If you're checking in you'd want to request an even numbered room. We were at odd number room and there is a lot of noise from passing cars. There's a fitness center located in the building ground level that I think you can use. The room itself was fine, the bed was a bit lumpy and you can tell they haven't rotated the mattresses. Maybe forever. The shower was excellent, maybe the best pressure on our trip. They have a large parking lot in front of the hotel if you're driving. The staff is fine, but again they don't present as a staff for a three or four star hotel. Like I mentioned in the other hotels in Iceland, professionalism isn't at the same level as Europe and United States. The breakfast buffet is free, it is decent. But I wish they had a selection of cooked eggs and meat."
