"Great hotel!
I stayed here with my dad during the Oceanman event. The location is perfect, as it's only a few meters from the start area of the Half Oceanman race.
We received a very warm welcome, and all the staff were exceptionally friendly. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant. The pizza was delicious, light, and well prepared. Besides the standard pizza options, they also offer some unique signature creations (see picture). My dad enjoyed a glass of wine and was very happy with it as...

"Mycket trevligt boende med tillgång till privat strand. Poolen stängd vilket den inte skulle vara. Spännande infart från trafikerad gata med låst grind."

"We were only able to stay one night, but our night at the Vallombrosa vineyard was very peaceful. The hosts were very helpful and kind and were gracious to bring me some emergency supplies. Although the property lies in a beautiful setting, it’s important to note that it takes at least 30 minutes to get to Lugano and the lake by car. I also have a couple suggestions to make the room even better:
-Provide a properly functioning coffee machine (Ours only produced 1-2 tablespoons of coffee. Maybe...

"The Grand Bristol hotel is by far the very best of all the places we have stayed so far, in Italy. The rooms were extremely comfortable. The bathrooms with their beautiful modern design were an unexpected surprise!
The beautiful gardens & pool, the luxurious rooms, the wonderful views, the warm and friendly staff made this an extra special place to stay with our family. So welcoming and hospitable for those traveling with babies too.
We loved the fact that most of our excursions were walking distance, including the launch point to the boat ride to the Borromean islands. The Palace & garden tour is a must see. It was beauty beyond words!"
"We had come back from Lake Como and prefer Stresa 100% mainly due to location of hotel. Central for ferries and restaurants. Breakfast was very good but mostly the staff. They were all professional and very responsive."
"Nice clean and quiet hotel. Located very close to the lakes edge. The staff were very polite and helpful. Breakfast was very good in the morning with plenty of choice. There is also an indoor pool. The absolute godsend in the hot/sticky weather was the use of the outdoor pool at the sister hotel. The hotel is about a 15/20 minute walk into the centre of Stresa. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s a lovely walk along the lakes edge into Stresa."
"The location was perfect. Right on the lake and close to shops and restaurants as well as access to the boats for visit to the Borromean islands. The pool was right on the lake. I didn’t see any other hotel that had that nice feature. There is also an adult only rooftop pool that is warm.Breakfast was delicious. However, the beds and pillows were quite hard."
"We were traveling with my mother who is in a wheelchair. The entrance to the hotel is very flat and easy to maneuver. There is an accessible public restroom room around the corner from the desk. The room was absolutely perfect the only change I would is a grab bar or two in the shower. Tub seat was provided for the walk/rolling shower. Showers in Europe are smaller than the US but this one was a decent sizes. Elevator worked well but is small I have attached a photo to show that only the wheelchair can fit and no other person or bag. But it does the job! Breakfast room was not handicapped accessible but my mom didn’t eat breakfast so it was not an issue. If you do want to eat on the property I would speak with the desk to find out how you can do that since it is only stairs to the room. Overall great stay with amazing c views from a wheelchair accessible room!"
"Lovely little traditional Italian hotel right in the heart of Stresa. On the main square in a pedestrian area - owners are onsite and very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and coffee fabulous also had a good bar with a terrace on the square - lovely for a coffee, beer or cocktail. Beds very comfortable and very nice sheets and towels.
No air con but good ceiling fans in the rooms and serviced daily. I had a room overlooking the square and it was lovely sitting in the evening or watching the sunset. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. Great location to explore lots of other places on the lake as boat departures only a couple of minutes walk away."
