"This is an excellent hotel. It is a fairly typical modern mid range hotel in itself, but seems to be better maintained and run than most. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and checked in by a chap called Andrew, who was also around at breakfast the following morning, working very hard and looking like he knew exactly what he was doing. I wouldn't often single out an employee but I thought he deserves the praise. The hotel has a small but good lgym downstairs. The waffle maker at breakfast was good fun, and made an excellent waffle, and breakfast generally was pretty good, The one downside was the coffee - quite why hotels use machines to make milky coffees without proper milk is something that I will never get my head round. But don't let that put you off the hotel as a whole!"

"Perfect location for Durham. Relaxing river walk to town. Restaurant food was good but a bit overpriced. The staff were brilliant, from front desk to bar and restaurant. They gave us their time to talk about the local area, routes into town and local events."
